Anexa’s Board of Directors met on 27th October 2021 and welcomed newly elected board member Brendon O’Leary to his first Anexa Board Meeting.
Brendon is passionate about the future success of the dairy industry and overcoming challenges faced now and going forward. He is a great asset to the Board, bringing in-depth knowledge and experience through his years of farming, his participation in on-farm research programmes and leading initiatives such as the Johne’s Disease Road Show, as well as his experience of governance representation on the winter milk programme.
During this meeting the Board voted and appointed Bruce Thomas as chair and Wayne Berry as deputy chair for 2021/22.
Chair Bruce Thomas acknowledged it has been a good year for the Vet Club and its clients. A strong pay-out, strong sheep and beef prices and a reasonable growing season for feed have resulted in a relatively kind dairy season. We thank members for their continued support of the Vet Club over the past year, all the while navigating the various COVID-related challenges.
In the 2021-22 season our focus remains on delivering quality services and great value to our members, assessing risk management across the business; along with COVID, people, cyber security, biosecurity, business interruption and asset integrity are all top of mind. As with all other businesses, the Board and Leadership Team must continue to adopt, adapt, evolve, and change how we do things to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients, as we head into an uncertain future.
A sound depth of knowledge and skills within the business, and high quality Anexa veterinarians puts us in a fortunate position and we remain focused in retaining and attracting skilled staff.
Cognosco, the Vet Club’s research division has had another successful year and we would like to take this opportunity to thank members for their ongoing support and participation in research projects.
The Board, the Leadership Team and the wider business are all working hard to ensure we are keeping in touch with the changing needs of our members in animal health, welfare, and compliance.
