Katrina has been at Anexa for 20 years. She started out as a vet student in 2002, helping Scott with research trials and then came back in 2003 to work as a clinical dairy vet and do her Vet Epidemiology Masters degree in heifer mastitis.

After finishing her Masters she went back to clinical dairy practice for a few years and then took on a new role as a herd health veterinarian for the business in 2008. This role was an advisory position in the areas of herd-level milk quality, reproduction and lameness. She also undertook further nutritional, environmental and farm systems consultancy training to provide a more holistic set of skills to the farmers under the Headlands umbrella.

She will always put up my hand to be involved in Industry projects that enable farmers to strive to achieve better performance. She has been involved with the redevelopment of the Dairy NZ InCalf programme, and has been on the stakeholder group for DairyNZs body condition score accreditation programme and DairyNZs FeedRight. She is often recruited to present to farmers and vets across the industry and has had train the trainer training through DairyNZ and she loves teaching staff on farms in a practical way. In the research space, aside from being involved in dairy mastitis trials at Cognosco she has been project manager on several significant research projects in the areas of heifer mastitis, reproduction and hypocalcaemia.
