Ali Karkaba

Ali Karkaba is Laboratory Manager of Cognosco  and Anexa’s Laboratory Services. Originally from Lebanon, Ali came to New Zealand in 2012 to pursue a PhD in Microbiology at Massey University’s School of Veterinary Science having completed his Bachelors & Masters degrees in Medical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Ali has conducted several research studies while undertaking his degrees; one key area of interest has been the study of antimicrobial resistance. Since joining Cognosco as Laboratory Manager, in 2017, he has been involved in several research trials while also managing the commercial veterinary laboratory providing in-house diagnostics on milk, blood and parasitology samples for Anexa’s dairy farmers.
