Celebrating success is important to the team at Anexa. Today we celebrate recognition for the rollout and continued implementation of the GoodYarn programme within the Anexa Group since 2017. GoodYarn is an award-winning programme that enables people to talk more easily about mental health.
We know that farming and veterinary can be very stressful at times. The GoodYarn programme helps our team to be there for our teammates, clients, friends, and families and offers advice on how to manage delicate conversations about mental health in a respectful and helpful way.
At Anexa, GoodYarn workshops are run 2-3 times a year, by our own Anexa GoodYarn facilitators, Emma Franklin and Liana Kaye, to ensure new staff and staff that want a refresher can develop their skills of recognising and supporting the mental well-being of others. In the April-May 2023 issue of VetScript, the official magazine of the New Zealand Veterinary Association, the GoodYarn programme and Anexa’s involvement with the programme was highlighted. We are proud that we were the first veterinary practice in the country to adopt the GoodYarn programme and are proud that we have committed and delivered on this initiative, resulting in better well-being practices for our staff and our wider communities.
