Are bones good for dogs?

Oct 20, 2023 | Cats, Dogs, Health and Wellness, Nutrition, Pet Health

You’ve probably heard the idea that bones are good for dogs, but actually, it’s a bit of a myth.

In reality, bones can be a risky choice for our dogs. They can lead to broken teeth, mouth and tongue injuries, or even blockages in their digestive system—not what we want for our pets!

But not to worry, there are plenty of safe and enjoyable chew options available that your dog will love. If you’re concerned that your dog might be bored, swing by an Anexa Vet Clinic and have a chat with one of the Nurses. We can discuss some great enrichment ideas and recommend toys to keep your dog entertained and mentally stimulated.

If you’re aiming to keep your dog’s teeth clean and healthy, bones aren’t the way to go.

At Anexa, we’ve got all the info you need on dental health, from special diets to dental chews, and even toothpaste and toothbrushes. We’ll help you find what’s best for your dog.

Oh, and when it comes to chew toys or anything your dog loves to chew on, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on them. We want to make sure they’re safe and happy!
