Anexa Vets Te Kauwhata recently celebrated the opening of the new purpose-built building with the wider community. Festivities included an afternoon clinic Open Day with the general public and an evening celebration for Anexa Vet Club’s farming members.
It was great to see everyone at the Anexa Te Kauwhata’s clinic open day on Wednesday 6th September. Thank you for celebrating with us.
Visitors enjoyed guided clinic tours, with a first-hand look behind the scenes viewing the pet hospital, including consult room, prep area, separate cat and dog wards, x-ray and other diagnostic equipment.
The clinic’s carport provided a comfortable place for staff to chat with clients while they enjoyed a hot drink or sausage sizzle, giant jenga, face painting and watching the balloon artist twist air-filled sculptures.
As part of the celebrations, all open-day visitors were entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic cat and dog prize packs. Our lucky winners were Erika Jonker and Sarah Sheen. The kids’ colouring-in competition remains open. Call in and pick up a sheet if you still need to. To be in to win, bring them back to the Anexa Te Kauwhata by Friday, 15th September.
Later in the evening, Anexa’s farming members, Board Directors and wider Anexa Team celebrated with short speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by food and drinks at the local Te Kauwhata Tavern. We thank Neil Bateup for ceremoniously cutting the ribbon to kick off celebrations.
“Veterinary services are crucial to the farming areas, it’s really good to see that we have come full circle. We have a Vet Club now, we’ve got Anexa Vets, and they have invested in the local community, and veterinary services will be available to the community for a long, long time to come.”
