Congratulations to Anexa’s 2023/2024 Massey University Study Grant recipients.
Every year (since 1997), Anexa awards two scholarships to Massey 4th year veterinary students. They are selected via an application and interview process overseen by John McCarthy and Travis Scott. Each successful scholarship winner receives a $3,000 grant from Anexa and they spend two weeks’ work experience in the Practice. Many previous grant recipients have gone on to work with Anexa as your vets after graduation.
The 2023/24 successful applicants are Saskia Johns and Tamara Anderson.
Saskia is off a dairy farm in Piopio and has always been interested in farming. She is passionate about large animal health and production, particularly in genetics and reproduction. She is also an outstanding sportswoman, excelling in tennis, hockey, and running. She has a very active involvement on various committees down at Massey.
Tamara is from Wellington and is of Cook Island/U.K. heritage. She has developed a passion for large animal medicine, has had various farming experiences and has also been involved with tutoring and helping others with learning. She is also a very high sporting achiever, representing NZ in age-group tennis overseas.
We look forward to seeing Saskia and Tamara later in the year on student placement.
