Andy Collier retires

Jun 10, 2022 | Dairy, News

At the end of the 2021-22 season we said farewell to Andy Collier. While Andy’s preference was to go quietly into retirement, we couldn’t let the occasion pass without recognising the massive contribution Andy has made to Anexa Vet Services throughout his career. Andy has contributed to the business in so many ways over the past 40+ years; he has been involved in clinical practice as a mixed practice vet, as a farm advisor and in practice management. He started his career in 1980 as a mixed practice veterinarian at the Matamata branch of what was then the Morrinsville and Districts Veterinary Club. After a year overseas in 1984/85 he returned to mixed practice based around Hamilton. By the early 90’s Andy had passed membership examinations in Dairy Cattle with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science, recognising his further training and expertise in this area. From 2001 he worked principally as a Farm Systems Consultant within Anexa and Headlands. Andy also held the Head Clinical Vet role and was part of Anexa’s Leadership Team for several years. Stepping down has been on the horizon for a while – over the last couple of years, he has slowly handed over his responsibilities, all while doing a fantastic job supporting those who took them over. We will all miss Andy’s smile, his calm, considered approach, and his ability to absorb and process the finer details. We wish Andy and Robyn a long, happy and fulfilling retirement.
